There are 3 immigration programs managed through Express Entry:
Canadian Experience Class

Federal Skilled Worker Program
- for skilled workers with foreign work experience

Federal Skilled Trades Program
- for skilled workers who are qualified in a skilled trade

What are the Eligibility Criteria for an Express Entry Immigration?
There are three categories of express entry that you may fall into
Federal Skilled Worker Program
The Federal Skilled Work Program is for skilled workers with foreign work experience who want to immigrate to Canada on a permanent basis. All minimum requirements must be met and currently the pass score is 67. You must have skilled work experience in one of the following National Occupational Classification job groups.
- Managerial jobs (skill type 0)
- Professional jobs (skill level A)
- Technical jobs and skilled trades (skill level B)
Federal Skilled Trades Program
The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade. To qualify for this program you must:
- Meet required language levels
- Have at least 2-years of full-time work experience in a skilled trade within the 5-years proceeding your application
- Meet the job requirements for that skilled trade
- Have a valid job offer for full time employment.
Canadian Experience Class
The Canadian Experience Class is for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents. You must meet certain language requirements and have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada in the last 3-years proceeding your application.
What Happens After I Apply for Express Entry?
You are placed in a pool with all the other express entry applicants. Candidates are ranked against each other, and the immigration officers will regularly draw from the pool. The immigration candidates with the highest scores will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada.
